Lucid Minds Positive Behaviour Support PTY LTD offers an evidence-based intervention service called Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), which is designed to help people with challenging behaviours, their families, and support networks.

We understand that caring for someone with challenging behaviours can be difficult and distressing, but our PBS services aim to:

  • Reduce these behaviours by understanding the person's communication, increasing their quality of life

  • Make changes in the environment

  • Teach new skills

  • Assist families and their support networks in developing successful approaches to address challenging behaviours.

Our Team

The Lucid Minds PBS  team consists of multidisciplinary practitioners, who work together to develop a holistic understanding of the person and create innovative Positive Behaviour Support Plans.

Positive Behaviour Support funding can be found under the Improved Relationships subcategory of the National Disability Insurance Scheme' Capacity Building Supports budget. These supports aim to build the skills of participants in order to help them reach their long-term goals and become more independent.

How to gain access

If you are a participant in the National Disability Insurance Scheme, you may be eligible for Positive Behaviour Support if you have the necessary funding. However, if you do not have sufficient funding, an initial assessment of your behaviour will be conducted using Therapeutic Supports funding or private payment. If it is determined that PBS is necessary to improve your quality of life and relationships, you can undergo a plan reassessment and potentially receive funding from the NDIA.
